Applications procedure

i)
Applications for places in Nursery and Yr1-Yr6 is by completion of the School Application Form obtainable from the School Office. The closing date for applications for places in the Nursery for September 2007 is 3rd November 2006. Applications received after the closing date will be considered after those received on time.
ii)
Application for a place in Reception class of the school is by completion of a Harrow Local Education Authority (LEA) Common Application Form and a Moriah School Form
a.
The Harrow Common Application Form is obtainable from the School Office or from the Admissions Service at the Civic Centre. The Harrow Common Application Form and Guide to Primary Schools in Harrow are available from 5th June 2006.
b.
The school form is available at any time.
iii)
The Harrow Common Application Form needs to be returned to the school named first on the Form by 3rd November 2006
iv)
The School Application Form needs to be returned to the school by 3rd November 2006.
v)
Offers of Reception places will be sent to parents from Harrow LEA. The LEA intends to offer places on 29th January 2007.
vi)
Offers of places in other classes will be sent from the school no later than the end of the Spring term.
vii)
Parents must indicate in writing within 2 weeks of the offer date their intention to take up the place.
viii)
In this initial allocation, applications to the school received after the closing date will be considered after those received on time.
ix)
Governors and the LEA also reserve the right, in making an offer of a place, to confer with other voluntary aided and neighbourhood schools to establish if parents are holding places at more than one school. In such a case, parents may be asked to nominate the school of their choice within ten working days.

Waiting List Procedure

 

If places subsequently become available the following will apply:
 
a.
All remaining applications, at the time a place becomes available, will be wait listed according to the priority order, with late applicants in priority category 6-10 listed after applications received by the closing date.
b.
Places will be offered according to the order within the waiting list.
c.
For these offers the Governors reserve the right to give parents ten working days only to decide to accept the place. 

 

Appeals Procedure 

 

In the event of parents not being offered a place for their child in the Reception or higher classes, they are entitled to appeal by writing to the Clerk to the Governors c/o the School, within 14 days of receiving a letter from the Governors or LEA informing them that a place is not available.
