Howard Bluston
I am in my twelth year as the Local Authority Governor on the Board of Governors. I was a Harrow Councillor for eight years until May 2006, and am still prominent on many
Harrow bodies. I am proud of Moriah's achievements, and am on the Premises/Health & Safety, and Curriculum sub-committees. I am an investments and property consultant, particularly for companies and pension funds, and am married with two grown-up children, both of whom attended
Sinai
School.
Alan Capper
I am a Foundation Governor, appointed by the United Synagogue, and also vice-chairman. I serve on a number of committees, including Personnel, Finance and Strategy & Vision and I am also one of the Trustees of
Harrow Jewish Day School Trust. My daughter, Miriam, was one of the first ever children at the school, and my son Danny was also educated at Moriah. My working career has been in Investment Banking and I am currently a Managing Director at Lloyds Banking Group.
Nicky Finkelstein
I am a mother of three boys who all attend Moriah - currently in the Gan, Year 4 and Year 6. I work part time as a public health doctor at the Health Protection Agency.
I feel privileged to be part of the Governing Body team at Moriah, and that I am able to make contributions to such a dynamic and thriving school. In my role as a Governor, and member of the curriculum committee, I seek to further the progress and success of the school in its provision of a strong educational foundation for all pupils.
I have been involved with the Governing Body since 2005, first as a Parent Governor, then as an Associate Governor, and now again as a Parent Governor. I am a member of Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue, and I wish to ensure that Moriah remains an inclusive Jewish school.
Paul Flaum
I became a Foundation Governor in December 2007. I currently have 3 children at the school (Millie in Year 3, Jessie in Year 2 and Frankie in Reception), Archie will be joining the nursery next September. In my working life I am Chief Operating Officer of Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants (which includes Premier Inn, the
UK’s largest hotel company and 400 Pub Restaurants). Running a hotel company was the only way I could guarantee myself a good night’s sleep!
Olivia Marks-Woldman
I joined as a Foundation Governor in September 2007 and am on the Curriculum and Vision/Strategy Committees. I moved to Pinner from Glasgow in April 2006 with Simon and the children: Ariela is now in Year 3, Asher is in Year 2 and Leah is in Reception. My professional career has been in political lobbying in the voluntary sector and I am currently Head of Campaigns and Policy at Breast Cancer Care. I am passionate about Moriah School, and want to make sure that as many families as possible know about its successes in nurturing confident and caring pupils who love coming to school and who enjoy learning.
Danielle Reece
I became a Foundation Governor in December 2008 and am Chair of the Premises, Health & Safety and Security Committee, and serve on the Curriculum Committee. I moved to Pinner (from Stanmore) in October 2007 with my husband Ashley and our daughter Natasha who is now in Year 3. I work as a medical PA for my husband, but trained and worked as a Fabric Technologist in my former life.
Doreen Samuels
Formerly Head of Jewish Studies and Deputy Head at Sinai School, joint Editor of the Chief Rabbi’s Children’s Siddur, I currently work as an Educational Consultant. Mother of three daughters, who all attended Sinai School, I believe passionately in Moriah, and our potential to be an outstanding school. I have been Chairman of the Governing Body since September 2007.
Elliott Saville
I am Elliott Saville and I have been a Foundation Governor for just over 5 years. I have 2 children at the school, Rebecca in Year 5 and Joshua in Year 3. I joined the Governing Body as I wanted to contribute something back to the school in return for the great education my children are getting at Moriah. In my working life I am Corporate Finance Director for dunnhumby, a marketing consultancy so naturally I am on the Governors’ Finance Committee, which I now chair. In my (little) spare time I am a keen cyclist and sports fan.
Helen Wiseman
My entire working life has been spent in education: as a teacher moving up the professional ladder to a Headteacher and then stepping sideways to being an Ofsted Inspector. I currently work as a teacher trainer and assessor in both the Jewish and the non-Jewish sectors. All four of my children, now grown-up, had the benefit of the Jewish school system. I am proud to be a Foundation Governor at Moriah and look forward to being part of the development of the school, going from strength to strength!
